1976 Barrie Examiner newspaper pic, was taken by a man in the summer of 1975. Possibly the first known photo taken of the monster. The location could be Heritage Park looking across the Bayfield Basin, part of Kempenfelt Bay. The children would be facing north towards the City of Barrie, its skyline is faintly seen in the background.

Taken June 30 2016 at St George's Anglican Church Sutton. The aquatic cryptid appears to be moving east towards Georgina Island. This picture was taken three months before the Jackson's Point sighting in September 2016 just two kilometers west of the church.
This black and white photo was sent into the South Shore Era in 1979 anonymously of a 'supposed' snapshot of the Loch Simcoe Monster near Snake Is. Whomever sent it in, said in a note at the time, it was shot with one of those old film cameras, hence not great reproduction even back in 1979. It ran on the front page of all the editions of The Newmarket Era in that year and caused quite a stir.
Kempenfelt Bay has deepest waters of Lake Simcoe, up to 120 feet deep. It has a very long history of many monster sightings over the years.
Lake Couchiching which has water discharged into it from Lake Simcoe also has a long history of lake monster sightings.
About the artist - Sam Logan : Celebrating 30 years of displaying original art to art-lovers from around the world in Vancouver's Heritage District of Gastown, Born in Korinth, Denmark on the island of Fyn, educated at the University of Western Ontario (London) and the Ontario College of Art (Toronto); Sam developed a truly unique and highly original style early in his professional career.
Sam loves to combine his passion of painting with travel. All paintings start as a charcoal on canvas on location. Eventually the canvas returns to the studio where it will take on a life of its own. Although using a centuries-old classical technique of under and over-painting in oil; the paintings remain modern in
their conception and thought. In Vancouver Sam's paintings have been displayed at the annual juried exhibition ' Artists in the Square', the Sinclair Center, the Gastown Art Company, the Bau-Xi Gallary and at many charitable events, but mostly at his beloved location in Gastown.
